This was a pretty funny look at the fashion industry in NYC. I shied away from watching it for a LONG time, because it has Meryl Streep in it & I REALLY dislike her and the characters that she plays! Oddly, she was perfect as the demanding Diva who runs a fashion magazine called 'RunWay' where Anne Hathaway is hired as her assistant! Anne Hathaway was really good in HER role, as well. I think that SHE is one of the current Great American Actresses, personally. Stanley Tucci played HIS role to perfection, also, as Nigel, the Fashion Editor. It was good to see him in a role that was not a gangster (which is all that I had seen him play, previously)! The soundtrack was spot on, too. I know NOTHING about fashion, or NYC, but I did enjoy this picture about both! It was obviously a spoof of the whole world of fashion & 'glamazons', but I think that there were some pretty accurate depictions of various character-types in that biz, you see.
Recommended by me, if you can get to see it for a LOW price. I watched my Mum's copy: so twas free in MY case!

I watched part of it but have not been able to watch the full thing. I should really watch the full thing some day.

DO see the entire film, B! I've a friend who works in NYC in Fashion who told me that Meryls' character was based on the Editor of Vogue magazine. She also said that she was glad that SHE did not work with NEone like THAT. I am glad of that, also!
